What It's All About

New Jersey gets a bad rap in general, but there's always so much more to this state than anyone gives it credit for. In regards to my primary fascinations of aviation and rocketry we are a state full of history that so few people know about. I feel like if the stories were just told more often the general public might get excited about the people, places, machines, systems, and all other manner of things that existed right in their own backyards. Aviation and rocketry have not just "existed" in New Jersey but have in fact been developed, advanced, tested, and perfected within our borders. From the first airport officially called an "airport" to the first supersonic missiles, New Jersey has been a place of great importance to the aeronautical world, whether that world is aware of it or not.

Through this blog I plan to share the stories that fascinate me. Posts may be general topic overviews, much more defined aspects of a topic, highlights of great technological breakthroughs and a few complete failures, current events as related to flight, and I'll be sharing my own personal adventures traveling the state to find the sites and remnants of the Aviation History of New Jersey.
